In My Grandfather’s Mansion is published in a limited edition of one hundred and seventy-five numbered copies signed by the author. One hundred and fifty copies only are for sale.

In My Grandfather’s Mansion, John Montague’s latest offering, is a conjuring out of the author’s childhood air of two of his ancestors – his grandfather and namesake, paterfamilias and Ulster Catholic Justice of the Peace, and his wife, the poet’s grandmother,  ‘a silent solemn figure’ but ‘a flesh-and-blood woman’.

Combining songs and sayings and referencing tomes in his grandfather’s library, the poems in In My Grandfather’s Mansion become a play for voices by one of Ireland’s most celebrated writers – now a grandfather himself, actively composing in his 82nd year.
